ACCESSING TELEPHONE LINES



As a result of the increase in demand for appointments we are aware that patients are still facing challenges accessing our phone lines. To minimise the volume of unnecessary contacts to the Practice we ask that you order your repeat prescription via our 24 hour prescription line on 0141 531 6218



We also request that you do not call the practice in advance to check if your prescription is ready. Your prescription will be available for collection 48 hours (2 working days) following your request. If you have informed us of your preferred pharmacy, we will ensure that your prescription is sent directly to the pharmacy for collection.

Repeat Prescriptions 

At the Cairns Practice we aim to have your repeat prescription available for collection 48 working hours following your request. Please note if you require your medication early i.e. if you are going on holiday, please contact reception staff prior to ordering.

Patients wishing to order their repeat prescription can order via our 24 hour prescription line on 0141 531 6218. Please leave your name, date of birth, address and telephone number along with the name of the medication you require.

There is also a prescription box at the main reception desk.

To improve the efficiency of our telephone answering service we would ask that you do not telephone the surgery to check in advance if your prescription is ready. 

Prescription Requests 

If you require medication that is not on your repeat list you may ask a member of the reception team to request this on your behalf. Please ensure you leave a current contact telephone number in case we need to get in touch with you. 

Lost/Urgent Prescriptions 

In the event of a lost prescription or you request an urgent prescription you will be asked to complete and sign a form.
